Pas mus gana šilta. Nors ir nėra labai karšta, bet Valentino dienos desertui norisi kažko lengvo ir gaivaus kaip pvz arbūzinė granita. Tuo labiau, kai arbūzų kaina kritusi ir taip ir nesuvalgėme arbūzo, kurį nusipirkome savaitgalį.

Porcijos: 4
Produktai:
800 gr arbūzo mikštimo ( be žievės)
0,5 stiklinės cukraus
1 v.š. laimo sulčių
Gaminimo procesas:
Į puodą storu dugnu sudėti kartu 1 stiklinę vandens ir cukrų. Maišant ant nedidelės ugnies pavirti apie 4 minutes arba kol cukrus ištirps.
Sudėti nedideliais gabaliukais pjaustytą arbūzą, padidinti ugnį iki vidutinės ir užvirti sirupą. Pavirti apie 5 minutes. Nuimti nuo ugnies ir palikti pravėsti apie 10 min.
Arbūzų masę susmulkinti virtuviniu kombainu iki vientisos košės. Perkošti, tyrę išmesti, o į likusį skysti įmaišyti laimo sultis. Supilti viską į šaldymo indą.
Palaikyti šaldymo kameroje apie 3 val arba kol pradės kietėti. Tada išėmus šakute sumaišyti masę, kad nesiformuotų ledo gabaliukai. Uždengti plėvele ir šaldyti apie 4 valandas vis kas valandą „suardant“ šakute.
It’s pretty warm in here. Although it is not that hot.. but for Valentine's Day dessert I wanted something light and refreshing like watermelon granita. Besides, the price of watermelons is really down and we haven’t finished the watermelon that we have on at the weekend.

800 g watermelon flesh(peel off)
0.5 cup of sugar
1 tbsp lime juice
Method:
In a thick-bottomed pan place together 1 cup of water and sugar. Stirring on a low heat simmer for about 4 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Add the watermelon cut into small pieces, increase heat to medium and boil everything for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and leave to cool for about 10 minutes.
Place the watermelon mixture in the food processor and process until smooth. Strain and discard the solids, mix in lime juice in a remaining liquid. Pour everything into a freezing container. Leave in freezer for about 3 hours or until it just begins to freeze. Then take it out and flake a mixture with a fork, to avoid ice crystals. Cover it with a wrap and refrigerate for about 4 hours, flaking mixture every hour.
