Naminis Imbierinis Alus/ Homemade Ginger Beer

Ir bent man naminis imbierinis alus skanesnis nei pirktas. Be to, jei gaminote cukruotą imbierą, imbierinis alus yra puikus būdas panaudoti likusį sirupą.

Produktai:

3 v.š. šviežaus tarkuoto imbiero
1 stiklinė cukraus
0,5 stiklinės vandens
1 citrinos sultys
0,5 a.š. sausų mielių
7 stiklinės vandens

Gaminimo procesas:

Sudėti į puodą tarkuotą imbierą, cukrų ir 0,5 stiklinės vandens. Viską užvirti ir pavirti kol cukrus ištirps. Nuimti nuo ugnies, atvėsinti (apie 30 mn.). Perkošti viską per sietelį.

Jei gaminote cukruotą imbierą ir turite likusio sirupo galite naudoti jį nuo šio etapo. Į sirupą įmaišyti citrinos sultis, mieles ir 7 stiklines vandens. Viską gerai išmaišyti. Viską supilti į plastikinį butelį, užsukti kamštelį ir leisti fermentuotis kambario temperatūroje 2-3 dienas. Kai pradeda gamintis angliarūgštė perkelti imbierinį alų į šaldytuvą.

In this era of letters and numbers it is becoming more and more difficult to understand things. All those codes and letters were created in order to make things easier to understand, but in everyday life it is not that much helpful. ISO9001, E621, # 8B0000 .. and so on.. and it is endless. Labels on the products are so difficult to understand that the only thing that is clear is usually the expiry date.
But I am not angry about it, I am just sad sometimes that for this current comfortable life, we pay with our health.
Maybe not everything is possible to make at home, but a lot of things we can. To make ginger beer at home is easy, just takes a long time to wait. And at least for me homemade ginger beer tastes better than the bought ones. Besides, if you were making candied ginger, ginger beer is a great way to use the remaining syrup.

Products:

3 tbsp. grated fresh ginger
1 cup sugar
0.5 cup of water
Juice of 1 lemon
0.5 tsp. dry yeast
7 cups water

Method:

Add the grated ginger in a pan, together with sugar and 0.5 cup of water. Bring it to the boil and simmer until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat, cool (for about 30 minutes). Strain through fine sieve.

If you were making candied ginger and have preserved the syrup you can use it from this stage. Mix into the syrup lemon juice, yeast, and 7 glasses of water. Mix everything well. Pour into plastic bottle, screw the cap and allow to ferment at room temperature for 2-3 days. When ginger beer begins to carbonate refrigerate it.

  1. Oooo ... thanks for the reminder. I've been griping so much about this heatwave we're having, this would be a perfect drink right now! Thanks again for the linkback! Glad you enjoyed this as well! I'll never have store-bought ones again. The fresh taste of the ginger is so different.
