Kavos Granita/ Coffee Granita

Pagal/ Source CitrusAndCandy

Although the weather here is not getting warm but cooling down is not a problem for me to eat ice cream and frozen desserts. Coffee granita because there are so  many ways to serve it- with cream, vanilla ice cream, or splash of liquor (this unfortunately I did not try, because such things don't remain for long in my home).

Products:

500 ml of freshly brewed coffee (your preferred intensity)
2-3 tbsp sugar (or to taste)

Method:

If you want you can add some spices, vanilla or chocolate to the brewed coffee. Sweeten to taste with sugar. Freezing will change the taste, so you should try to sweeten it bit more than usually. Though, you should note the more sugar you add the softer granita will be after freezing.

Pour coffee into a shallow container and leave in a freezer. Check after 45-60 minutes, when it starts freezing around the sides mix it using a fork.
Check every 1-2 hours and mix with a fork until granita is completely frozen.

Can be served with condensed milk, whipped cream.

  1. Simple and delicious pick-me-up; I'm coming from a country where many problems are resolved over a cup of coffee.
