Yellow Split Pea and Potato Stew/ Zirnių troškinys (košė?)su bulvėmis

Produktai:

2 stiklinės skaldytų zirnių
3 vidutinio dydzio virtos bulvės pjaustytos nedideliais gabaliukais
1 svogūnas (smulkiai pjaustytas)
2-3 česnako skiltelės (smulkintos)
2-3 zalieji čili (smulkinti)
1 v.š. kario miltelių
1 a.š. maltos kalendros
1 a.š. kumino sėklų
1 a.š. gastyčių sėklų
Druskos pagal skonį
Aliejaus kepimui

Gaminimo procesas:

Here nights are cold, temperature drops even below zero. Today two colleagues were sick and didnt even come to work. That's why we should have a lot of tea with ginger and eat decently. For example.. pea stew with potatoes.

Cooking time: about an hour

Products:

2 cups yellow split peas
3 medium-sized boiled potatoes cut into small pieces
1 onion (finely chopped)
2-3 cloves garlic (minced)
2-3 green chilies (chopped)
1 tbsp curry powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
Salt to taste
Oil for frying

Method:

Pick the peas and wash few times with warm water. Then soak them in a water for at least 30 minutes. Then add soaked peas together with 5 glasses of water, bring it to the boil and simmer on a low heat for about 30 minutes.

In the mean time, heat the oil in a skillet, add cumin and mustard seeds, when they begin to crackle add chopped onion. Saute the onion for about 5 minutes. When it becomes translucent add garlic and green chilies. Fry everything for a few minutes.

When the peas are almost cooked, soft and mushy add onion mixture, mix well, if too thick add a little bit water. Simmer for about 5 minutes, then add boiled potatoes, salt to taste, stir gently and simmer for few minutes before serving.
