Vyno Marmeladas/ Wine Marmalade

Wine and chocolate can fix everything, well maybe not everything, but at least it can make a mood better. So I love wine for any occasion and in any form, even as jam .. :)

Products:

250 ml dry white wine (I used red)
200+ 50 gr. sugar
30 ml lemon juice
1.5 tbsp pectin (or jam setter)

Method:

First, mix pectin with the sugar. This is necessary because otherwise pectin will lump and won't be dissolved. I used a jam setter, which was a mixture of sugar and pectin so I missed this step.

Bring wine with the remaining 200 gr. sugar to the boil. Add lemon juice and bring to the boil again, then mix in pectin and sugar mixture. Stir to dissolve it and then remove from the heat. Pour into a jar and it will become a marmalade when cooled.

You can adjust how thick you want the marmalde using more or less pectin.

  8. How interesting that you can make jam with wine...I had no idea! Will any wine do? If so this would make for a great use of some of the not-so-great bottles hanging out in our fridge...

    1. I think any dry wine would be fine. In recipe I found white dry wine was used and I used red one.
