Cashew Curry/ Anakardžių riešutų karis

Būna tokių patiekalų, kuriuos pamilsti nuo pirmo kąsnio.. Taip ir atsitiko man, kai paragavau pirmą kartą Šri Lankietiško anakardžių riešutų kario. Tikrai anksčiau nebuvau ragavus nieko panašaus, kelis kartus paragavusi nusprendžiau pabandyti pasigaminti tokį karį namie ir gavosi tikrai labai skaniai.

Gaminimo laikas: 2 val. mirkymui + 30 min.

Produktai:

250 gr. anakardžių riešutų
150 gr. žirnelių
1 vidutinio dydžio svogūnas (smulkiai pjaustytas)
2 a.š. smulkinto česnako
2 a.š. imbiero pastos
1 a.š. maltų pipirų
2-3 v.š. kario prieskonių
0,5 a.š. ciberžolės miltelių
2 stiklinės kokosų pieno
Aliejaus kepimui
Druskos pagal skonį

Gaminimo procesas:

Riešutus nuplauti ir pamerkti vandenyje mažiausiai 2 valandoms.

Puode įkaitinti aliejų, sudėti svogūną ir pakepinti kol taps permatomas, tada sudėti imbierą, česnaką ir pakepinti dar kelias minutes.

Tada sudėti visus prieskonius ir druską, gerai išmaišyti, sudėti nusunktus riešutus i viską gerai išmaišyti, kad riešutai pasidengtų prieskoniais.

Ant vidutinės ugnies pakepinti apie 7-10 min., tada sudėti žirnelius, supilti kokosų pieną, gerai išmaišyti ir pavirti dar apie 5 min. arba kol padažas patirštės.


There are dishes that you just fall in love with from the first bite .. It happened to me when tasted Sri Lankan cashew nut curry for the first time. After having it few times I decided to try to make that myself at home and it turned out really delicious.

Servings: 4

Cooking time: 2 hours for soaking cashews + 30 min

Products:

250 gr. cashew nuts
150 gr. green peas
1 medium size onion (finely chopped)
2 tsp crushed garlic
2 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp pepper
2-3 tbsp curry powder
0.5 tsp turmeric powder
2 cups coconut milk
Oil for frying
Salt to taste

Method:

Wash and soak cashew nuts in water for at least 2 hours.
Heat the oil in a pan add onion and saute until translucent (about 5 min.) then add ginger and garlic and saute for few minutes.

Then add all the spices and salt, mix well, add cashew nuts and mix well to coat them with spices.

Cook on medium- low heat about 7-10 minutes, then add peas, coconut milk, mix well and simmer for about 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
