Chickpea Biryani/ Ryžiai su avinžirniais

Gaminimo laikas: apie 35-40 min.

Produktai:

2 stiklinės basmati ryžių
1 skardinė konservuotų arba stiklinė virtų avinžirnių
3 stiklinės vandens
1 svogūnas (smulkiai pjaustytas)
1 a.š. imbiero pastos
1 a.š. smulkinto českano
2 žalieji čili pipirai (smulkinti)
100 gr. pomidorų pastos
1 a.š. kumino sėklų
1 a.š. garam masala
Aliejaus kepimui
Druskos pagal skoni

Gaminimo procesas:

Puode įkaitinti aliejų, sudėti svogūnus ir pakepinti apie 5 minutes kol taps permatomi. Sudėti kumino sėklas, imbiero pastą, česnaką, žaliuosius čili ir pakepinti viską dar kelias minutes.

Tada sudėti pomidorų pastą, garam masala, druską ir avinžirnius. Viską išmaišyti ir pakepinti apie 3-5 min.

Sudėti ryžius, gerai viską išmaišyti, supilti vandenį, uždengti dangtį, užvirti ir sumažinus ugnį pavirti kol vanduo išgaruos. Man tas užtruko apie 25 min. Nuimti nuo ugnies ir prieš patiekiant permaišyti.

Cooking time: 35-40 mins.

Products:

2 cups basmati rice
1 can of chickpeas or cup of cooked chickpeas
3 cups water
1 onion (finely chopped)
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp crushed garlic
2 green chilies (chopped)
100 gr. tomato paste
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp garam masala
Oil for frying
Salt to taste

Method:

Heat oil in a pan, put the onions and saute for about 5 minutes until they become translucent. Add cumin seeds, ginger paste, garlic, green chillies and fry everything for a few minutes.

Then add tomato paste, garam masala, salt and chickpeas.

Mix everything well and fry for 3-5 minutes. Add rice, stir everything well, add water, cover the pan, bring to the boil and simmer on a low heat until the water evaporates. That took me about 25 minutes. Remove from heat and mix before serving.
