Ananasinis Pyragas/ Pineapple Tea Cake

Produktai:

1 stiklinė miltų
1 a.š. kepimo miltelių

One day recipe with bananas, another day with pineapples.. It seems that everything should smell like the sunny warm tropics, though it actually is the opposite.. it's almost mid-winter.
I admit I had only a slice of this pineapple cake. But not because it was not good. On the contrary, it was good so I gave the rest of it to my friend, so she could also enjoy it.

Servings: 10-12 pieces

Products:

1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
0.25 cup cornflour
440 gr. can of pineapple (drain and crush pineapple, reserve about 0.3 cup of syrup)
0.5 cups castor sugar
1 egg, beaten
60 g butter, melted
2 tbsp brown sugar
0.5 cup walnuts, finely chopped

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180C. Grease 20 cm round baking form.

In a large bowl sift the flour, baking powder and cornstarch. Add the pineapple chunks, syrup, castor sugar, egg and melted butter. Mix everything well.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking form, level the top. Evenly sprinkle with brown sugar and chopped walnuts. Bake for about 35 minutes or until a wooden skewer inserted comes out clean. Leave to cool in the form for 10 minutes, then finish cooling on a wire rack.
